We recently upgraded Citect SCADA 2018 R2 to AVEVA Plant SCADA 2020 R2. After the upgrade, Citect Anywhere ver 1.2 is unable to fetch data and all the variables displayed as #COM. The data is displayed normally only after we re-login as Engineer or Admin user. We have not upgraded Citect Anywhere so It leads me to believe compatibility issue or may be licensing? Appreciate any advise to fix the issue. Thanks for your time to respond.

Hi @Ashesh,
Can you confirm where you logging in the Engineer or Admin user? Is it within Plant SCADA runtime? You shouldn't need to login to view data. You will need to login to be able to write to tags though. So I am not sure why it is #COM before logging in?
What happens when you login to the Server that hosts Citect Access Anywhere and you launch a display client (Citect runtime client)?
Have you added the User accounts you use for Citect Access Anywhere login, to the Plant SCADA group:
- SCADA.RuntimeUsers (if you upgraded, they may be left to the original name "Citect.LocalUsers")
The Citect Access Anywhere is somewhat agnostic to the underlying Citect / Plant SCADA version. So I doubt it is a compatibility issue. It appears to be most of a configuration issue.
Plant SCADA 2020 R2 did introduce the following security enhancements:
I'd also recommend you consider upgrading your Citect Access Anywhere v1.2 to the latest so that you are running the most secure software available (Plant SCADA Access Anywhere 2023).

Thanks Olivier_vallee
Much appreciated. I am getting response on IP ping with the servers, so communication is good.

I believe this can be the potential issue as I have used the original user credentials. I will re-configure user accounts and see how it goes. Thanks again for your detailed response. Cheers.

Hi @Ashesh,
How did you go with setting the Plant SCADA Group to allow access to your user accounts? Did it solve the issue?
Let us know how you are going.
Thanks for your feedback.
Kind regards
Olivier
