Question on replacing batteries: I've got an Back UPS 800XS backup unit, black cover, have had it for a few years, thought it would be prudent to replace batteries. Got new batteries, Disconnected old batteries while quickly looking at color of cables trying to make mental note of which color went with which cable, Thought I had it in my head while disconnecting cables, but when I started reconnecting cables it didn't make sense though. It appears the black goes with a black neg, the red goes with a red positive(That probably a no brainer), and I figured the yellow with two ends would go with the same color also, but that doesn't appear to be the case, it appears that one yellow end will end up with a neg and the other end will end up with a positive. If I am correct on this please confirm.

I called the outfit I bought the batteries from and they did confirm the above which I stated. I was basically looking for a quick answer from you guys, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try.
Anyway even though I didn't buy the batteries from you guys I do favor your UPS units over other brands. I've got 4 APC units now through the out the house two given to me and one non-APC unit also given to me.
sincerely,
Keith

Keith,
Why are the terminals disconnected? The battery for the XS800 should be an RBC32, which has a grey andersen connecter:

You shouldn't have to be re-wiring anything.

You may have to wait until KVar logs in again to obtain that information. It's publically stated all around here that the use of non-APC recommended batteries in APC equipment will not be supported. He doesn't work for us, but should be able to confirm what you're looking for.
