Using back-ups es 750. I think the battery is dead. PowerChute shows current status 0% remaining battery and "battery is currently charging.", and that never changes. I've been unable to find a local vendor -- even the one where I purchased the backup -- that sells apc replacement batteries. They offer cyberpower, tripplite, and another brand whose name I don't remember. I'm not keen on paying shipping cost for one ordered online.
What are the community's recommendations regarding replacing with a non-APC brand? What specification for watts, VA, etc should I look for in the replacement?
TIA,
Phil

In addition to what BlueSky said, keep in mind, using third party batteries can avoid any remaining warranty in certain situations.

Hi Phil.
If you want absolute compatibility along with the greatest longevity and runtime with your replacement battery, always go with APC branded batteries which, in this case I believe, is an RBC4. That being said, they are other manufacturers/rebranders that produce replacement batteries. Generically, the battery appears to be a 12volt @ 12amp/hr battery. Dimensions are: Length: 5.95" x Width: 3.86" x Height: 3.94".
I personally have experimented with installing battery from other manufacturers in my UPS systems resulting in varying levels of satisfaction and I consistently find APC-branded batteries to be the best. I hope this helps.
(P.S. I don't work for APC and I don't own stock in the company. I'm just loyal to the brand).
