Hi,
I have had an XS-800 for a couple of years now. Twice now it has switched to battery mode and everything plugged into it has lost power immediately--no time was available on battery power. Both times I diagnosed that one of the batteries had gone bad and I replaced it. The most recent time was just today so not much time has elapsed.
So--I expect these batteries to die after a few years. But what I don't expect is no warning and no availability when battery mode is operational. The location of the UPS box is under the desk and I can't see the LEDs on the front panel. I had assumed that the power management software built into my OS (Win 7 Ultimate) would communicate with me about any battery problems. Is this not the case?
Thanks.
P.S. The XS-800 has worked as expected all of the other times over the years that there was a power loss.
