I've had the unit for a year. Actually own 2 of them.
Last week we had a power outage. Before it went completely out, power went off and on several times for about 10 seconds.
The battery went from "fully charged" to 0 minutes in about 5 minutes on a 23% load. During previous power outages I would have about 30-40 minutes depending on the load.
Anyways I let the battery fully charge and then switched it back to battery power and it ran out of power in under a minute.
I thought it was a bad battery, but when I put that battery in the other back-ups, it worked as it should.
So for some reason it thinks the battery has no power even though it does.
Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions before I put in for a warrenty replacement.

Have you seen any flashing fault (Fxx) indications on the front of the LCD screen before, during, or after one of these incidents?
It sounds like you've already done a manual discharge and then charged the unit back up, and this would have been the only suggestion I could have made to "force" the unit to recalibrate itself and recognize proper battery runtime. If you feel that the last discharge was uneven or interrupted in any way, or that the load was not as close to 30% as possible (this is what we require for recalibrations) you could try that procedure again with a 30% load and see if the unit recalibrates successfully. Otherwise, I would just check for any damage on the "bad" unit's battery connector's, etc. and then call in for a warranty replacement.
Edit: One other thing, any communication cables attached to the UPS? Specifically the cable required for PC to UPS communication with our software.

If it's attempting to charge a battery that is technically fully charged and is verified as good in another unit, and is also displaying a charging trend on par with what would happen with an empty battery AFTER a calibration, it sounds like a bad unit. I would call tech. support at this point.

Well it's very odd for one of our UPS' to cut short it's own runtime but it seems like you need to call into tech. support for a replacement, unless someone else here on the forums has any more insight!

ive never actually seen this happen but have heard stories on different units - where the batteries are fine but the unit cut's its own runtime short. as long as you've done a calibration, i dont see what else can be done either.

Well the unit goes from a full battery indicator to empty as soon as the AC is pulled and then shuts off in under a minute.
So it's not really discharging the battery.
But it does take hours for the battery indicator to become full again.
Should I try draining the battery in the working unit and then recharge it in the malfunctioning unit?
