Hello.
Based on http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA158958/ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp9oVN3FS8k videos:
UPS' black cable with its white plastic end connector goes to the naked battery's connector.
UPS' red cable with its black end connector (no white plastic end connector) goes to battery's red+yellow+transparency connector.
Am I correct? Thank you in advance. 🙂

Yes, the Positive (RED) terminal will usually have a small plastic cover protecting itself.
