Weird comm card on SRT model

Hello! I am new to the schneider forums, I recently got a SRT8KRMXLT second hand, all the batteries measure good and everything seems well, except for the comms card. It doesn't want to talk at all on the network, or over serial but it does show up in windows device manager when I plug in usb. I think something might've gotten corrupted some how. When I try to do a firmware update (over usb) it starts, the screen pops up with "Updating Firmware, do not power off" but then the unit immediately power cycles. The update utility doesn't show any progress, and was stuck at zero percent, even after 3 hours. I learned there is a special console cable, which I've since ordered, but otherwise I am at a loss for what to try now. Any input or ideas are appreciated. Thank you!

Attached is a video of the update process I am trying. After that video was recorded, the ups no longer wanted to be updated over usb, saying something along the lines of usb not being supported.

Edit 1: I forgot to mention, I did try updating over serial, and it seems like it was talking, but the update utility said something along the lines of, it couldn't communicate with the unit.

Having watched this video it’s clear you have pretty much ignored and broken every rule and procedure outlined by the APC Firmware FAQ and lack some basic understanding of what’s happening. 🤦‍♂️

EPO: I have no clue what you believe you’re doing with this Emergency Power Off (EPO)?!? Remove all the wiring from that port now!! ☝️

Don’t connect or touch this area at all . . .

Outputs: Turn off the output via the front panel. I don’t care what the manual says about it being supported - turn it off!

Serial: You must use the RJ50 -> Serial (RS-232) proprietary cable that came with the system, purchased, or one you’ve made and validated that works correctly on the system! ☝️

Do not attempt or use the USB / NMC option to upload the UPS Firmware.

Firmware: The FUW automatically identifies and loads the correct UPS ID Firmware for you. As seen in the browse pop up window!

Do not search for a random file you think is correct on your computer! 🤢

Based on what I saw in this video you have less than 5% of recovering this system especially if you turned the unit off / removed AC Mains.
