Hello,
I just pullout an old UPS from the wardrobe.
It's a Back-UPS Office 500 VA, aka BF500U
Upon plugin it, I got a Replace Battery LED flashing. I charged the battery externally and tested it: 8Volt after 24 hours. So it needed replacement.
I ordered a new battery and put it. I immediately got a Replace Battery too there.
I charged the new battery externally (AGM battery charger, 500ma charging current). The battery was at 13.2 volts after being charged.
I put back the new battery back into the UPS. Everything work fine, and I leave the UPS running for it to drain the battery until it report 15% remaining, before putting the power back on for it to recharge the battery,
I come back the next day, and the UPS "Replace battery' is lit again. I test the battery voltage: 10.2 volt.
The UPS didn't charge the battery, even though it reported doing so in the manager app.
I partially charge the battery until it reach 11.8 volts. I put the battery back in, plug the UPS. Now, it should be charging but when I test the voltage at the battery pole when the UPS is pluged in AC: 11.8 volts. So, the UPS is NOT sending power to the battery.
Is the UPS only good for the Eco Center at this point? Or is it salvageable?
Thanks,
Philippe

Hi,
Those units were discontinued some time ago. Your best option is to replace the UPS.
