UPS, Wiring on Single Wire or Double Wire? Prons & Cons of single Wiring ?

As I have been using APC UPS from two three years and well satisfied with its performance and working

Recently, my friend needed one, so I bought the one for him.

But during wiring at his home …the electrician has done just SINGLE WIRING for UPS
i.e just one wire (live wire) for UPS and he say that I should join the neutral from UPS output and neutral from Main Supply .

Can some body tell me that..
1. WILL IT WORK OR NOT
2. PORNS AND CORNS

For explanation I have attached the drawings explaining my problem

The UPS Model is which is being installed is
UPS Model :APC Smart-UPS 2700W / 3000VA (SUA3000RMI2U) 220V

I would suggest u don't use single wire if u want to be safe. Get Ur wiring done by a qualified electrician, and make separate circuits for the ups. Although it will work with single wire but if by mistake u connect the mains other way round, or one of the sockets gets short circuited, and there is back flow in the ups, it may fry. So to protect Ur ups, it's safe to use dedicated circuits. The ups is not designed for this purpose, but I am also living in same part of the world as u and i am also using similar ups for the same purpose and it's working fine with separate circuits.
