HI,
I have a APC 425VA UPS, randomly on boot up of my PC the UPS trips powering off the booting computer, the overload solid red light then turns on and the UPS is dead in the water until I hard reset it. The UPS is not overloaded at all, in fact its breaker does not need resetting. This only happens when the serial monitoring interface cable is connected. Does anybody have any idea why the UPS does this?

Hello,
Do you have any software installed on the PC? If so, what? Also, what is the part number of the signaling cable you are using in this setup? The 425 is quite an older UPS, and I doubt that this has anything to do with the UPS as well, as it only seems to happen when the cable is connected during bootup. I would recommend checking the software and uninstalling that, or double checking the cable for starters.
