The replacement battery icon lights in my Back-UPS Pro 1500 with 4 months old

Hi!!

In 2013 octuber, I bought my Back-UPS Pro 1500. Since few days, the replacemente battery icon lights and I don´t know why. Also, the battery time is always beteewn 0 and 1 minutes.

What do you think??

Well, keep in mind the UPS runtime while the UPS is operating online is a good estimate. When the UPS operates on battery, it updates the runtime value and constantly recalculates based on the load conditions and battery conditions.

Thus, how much load was that lamp drawing? We should cross reference it to the runtime chart to see how much runtime it should've provided because assuming the runtime chart says about 13 minutes or so, there wouldn't be an issue because the 22 was an estimate but the UPS changed it when on battery and hopefully it is a bit more calibrated now where the estimate while online will be closer to the 13 minutes.

Can you confirm, is the exact SKU of the UPS from the sticker where the serial number is BR1500GI? If so, the runtime chart is on this page and at about 400 watts is where we see 13 minutes..but that sounds like a very big lamp! Or, the runtime is poor.

Well, it could just need to be calibrated, or the battery was older than we think it is depending on where it was sitting before you purchased it. You could also have a faulty battery.

What I would do first is plug a non critical load (such as a lamp) to the battery back up outlets and unplug the UPS from the wall and see what happens. Does the runtime increase and actually last longer than 1-2 minutes? If so, then I'd suspect we should calibrate the UPS (AKA runtime calibration) by loading it up and letting it run with a non critical load until it turns off and charges back up and re-calculates the runtime.

If the UPS and/or load turns off immediately, then I'd want to verify the battery reports 100% charged and then perhaps look towards getting a battery replacement under warranty.

Lastly, it'd be helpful to know the serial number (first six characters are adequate) of the UPS to determine the age.

I do that you say me. I was 24h charging my ups. Today, I conect a lamp to ups and unplug de UPS from the wall. The first time that the UPS show me was 12 min, but in 1 second this time down to 0 second. In 0 second he remained on for 12 min.

The battery charging icon blinking all the time and the display show me in the all section: 0 min - 0 w - 0 reports - 0 v (output voltage) - 230 v (input voltage)

What can I do??

OK, let the UPS charge up fully and see if it changes. If not, you may need to contact technical support for this for a replacement on either the battery or the UPS. The UPS is not that old and the battery should not be either but perhaps the UPS is having trouble detecting the battery, especially if the Replace battery LED is flashing the entire time which indicates the battery is disconnected (which we know isn't the case) cause it ran for 12 minutes.

Hi!!

I've been charguing for 48h. without any peripheral UPS runtime is showing me 22 minutes. Another detail is that, for now, the battery icon does not flash ... yet. Today I returned to perform the same test on another day. I have a lamp connected to the UPS. It has dropped from 22 minutes to 13 minutes in 10 seconds. From 13 minutes to 10 minutes it has taken three minutes, the usual. 10 minutes to 0 minutes it has taken another 10 seconds and the battery icon started flashing. The time that has lasted the UPS with the lamp was 11 minutes.

Keep thinking that the problem can be both the UPS and the battery?
