All: I just read a post that said APC wants APPLE to use it OWN shutdown mechanism ...
I use Snow Leopard OS 10.6.2 and it AINT got such an animal.. That is to shut down gracefully
when power goes out..
What are they talking about?
BTW when does APC get around to updating its WeB pages that show tech spec?
And I still can't get anyone at APC in a chat session or an email support item, OR....
Thanks Jim B

APC support was closed Christmas day. APC does not support Macs for PowerChute Personal edition because the Apple Energy Saver application is regarded to be equally effective, making PCPE for Macs obsolete. If for some reason you can't use energy saver you can look into a program called APCUPSD, which is a non-APC solution for managing a UPS and works with UNIX and many Mac OS'. Please keep in mind that since this is non-APC software, APC will not do any tech support on it or be liable for any issues caused by using it.
Our tech spec webpages are updated by a separate group when such updates are confirmed and/or deemed needed. Which page are you concerned about?

(How do you get .JPG to display in Msg? I put the 3 screens in my Facebook album... so you could
review them...)
Thanks Jim B .. 1.3.4 seems to add control to UPS...
Cheers, Jim B

I attach them using the "Attach Files" tool below the message edit box, post, copy the URLs of the uploaded files, and then edit the message to include the images.
So I take it before you didn't see any of the shutdown options and now you do... I'm not seeing the shutdown options so I'm curious what changed? What is 1.3.4?

Hello voidstar: I don't get the hang of your method... SO here is a text review..
Please go to my FaceBook site and look at this album:
Link: [http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=42900&id=1347030109&l=8a9c275e07]
On my OS10.6.2, I see the normal Energy panel:
(1 of 3 in Album)
In the UPS option, at bottom I click on : "Shutdown Options". This brings up the following:
(2 of 3 in Album ... then 3 of 3 in album)
(Note that the UPS page also shows the "Current Charge is 100%")
----------------------------------------------
I also removed V 1.3.4 of the Power Chute Personal Edition (PCPE) from my Mac.
Cheers, Jim B
