Got new batteries for my smart UPS 1500 and ran a calibration and it shut down the computer!!
Anyone know why that would happen?
Thanks,
Ken

You’ll need to provide a lot more information about your unit for a more accurate solution.
What is the exact model number and serial number?!? Provide the event, data, ups logs for review here.
As it relates to any battery replacement the following must be done in this order:
Installation Date: The new battery installation date must be entered via LCD Menu if available or through Power Chute Software / Third Party.
Self Test: Once the above has been done manually initiate a Self Test, let complete and pass followed by allowing the battery to recover to 100% SOC.
Battery Calibration: Manually initiate the battery calibration via LCD Menu, Power Chute, NMC if present with at least 30% attached load on the outputs and let it complete. Once done allow the battery to recover and recharge back to 100% SOC.

OK so my replies don't seem to be getting "saved" so apologies if there are multiples.
After having the batteries replaced it sat in my car for about 36 hours here in the US, North East. I hadn't thought about the cold, but should have. Mea culpa.
Running another calibration this morning it ran correctly and came up with a longer run time closer to what I thought it should be.
I'm curious about your serial number request. Is there something in the serial numbers that indicate the unit type?
Thanks for posting,
Ken

Hi Ken,
The serial number would provide insight as to when the unit was produced. If the serial number was say 25th week of 2024 it would still be covered by the APC Warranty.
As such the battery would be replaced for free under the warranty. The battery cartridge / cell also have a production date affixed / stenciled on the body.
Generally speaking the battery installation date entered into the unit falls within the two production dates.
NOTE: Warranty starts from the date of purchase. In the event where a person has no proof of purchase (receipt) the serial number is used to determine the warranty period.
