Smart UPS 1500C: Wiring Fault: Shutdown and notifications
We are in a 115+-year old factory building. Over the years, the power has not been all that bothersome or unreliable - but we've used many APC UPS units over the years, to good effect. Our current configuration has a pair of fairly new 1500C UPSs, both connected to individual workstations for PC Serial Shutdown signaling.
There was a fairly big storm hereabouts last night, and when I arrived this morning one of the UPS units was sounding the alarm, offline, and the error message was b04 - building wiring error. The UPS, running, was not outputting any power to connected devices. The other UPS plugged into an outlet on the same circuit breaker was fine.
I tested the outlet just to see if there was anything obvious - no. Unplugged the 1500C, turned off, plugged in, turned on. No problems. Also no email from the Serial Shutdown software. I went to look at the various Event email settings, and there is nothing to include any wiring error reporting. The battery had not discharged, so no trigger there. Just curious as to why this type of Event doesn't trigger any kind of signaling
