Server does not restart when connected to UPS BR900G-GR

Hello everyone

I am trying to run my server connected to the UPS mentioned above. The power supply Unit is a: "Be quie! straight power BQT E9-400W 80+ Gold". The mainbord is a: " ASRock Q87M VPRO".

My problem is that the server does not restart automatically when connected to the UPS. A restart is frequently neccessary whenever an installation process is complete. In my case the server freezes after shut down when trying to boot up again. I then have to manually turn the server off and on again.

Any solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Here are my initial comments:

  • What OS is on your server?
  • Does this problem happen when you manually restart the server?
  • Do you have the USB cable connected to the server using PowerChute or native UPS support?
    • Do you see the same behavior with the USB cable removed?
  • Is there any information in a server log anywhere that can help to see if the OS is getting stuck at a certain point, and what point it may be?
