Safe disposal of battery backup
I have an APC Smart UPS 700 on which the battery has died. I no longer need the backup capability, but what's the proper way to dispose of this piece of equipment?

if you recycle the battery at a location such as your local transfer station or something along those lines, you can junk the electronics portion at places that accept old computer parts or CRT monitors, etc
if you need a new UPS, APC will recycle the entire thing and provide a return label via the Trade UPS program but it sounds like you dont need a new UPS.
