SUA5000RMI5U - Onboard Battery charger circuit?

Hi,

We are an electronics workshop. One item the we use in-house is an APC SUA5000RMI5U UPS. Very handy peice of longtime reliable equipment.

Briefly, the existing 2x48vdc RBC battery packs are dead. However, we do have a 48vdc/1000Ah battery bank sitting here and would like to use that instead. Don't worry, we know precisely what we are doing.

One thing, the battery bank has it's own battery management controller so we would like to disable the UPS's on-board battery charging circuit in the most elegant way possible.


Any ideas? Firmware, config, hotkeys, schematic etc.

As much as possible we recommend using APC batteries which has been tested to conform with the standards set by APC.  To the best of my knowledge, there's no way for you to disable the battery charging circuit of our UPS.
