My SUA1500 began buzzing this evening. It buzzes intolerably on or off while plugged into the wall. The buzzing ceases when I unplug the APC from the wall while powered off. I popped the metal cover off and plugged it back into the wall. It seems to me that the buzzing is coming from the large, yellow power transformer. Can I get parts? Any suggestions?

Eric,
As far as I know, buzzing is not good for UPS operation. APC does not sell the UPS parts separately. If you have purchased the UPS within last two years, then please contact the APC Customer Care Center to diagnose the issue, and get the replacement unit. If the unit is out of warranty, then please contact the nearest APC authorized service centers. You can get the contact details of the service centers from the Customer Care Center.

I've already diagnosted the problem: I appear to need a new transformer. What is an APC service center? Have you a phone number? I just want a part.

You can reach the APC Phone support at 1-800-800-4272. If you would like to consider having this UPS repaired, you would need to contact an APC Authorized Repair Center.
