What are the active faults / error codes displayed by the UPS?!? If you have APC PCBE software installed what does the logs indicate?!?

Lastly, what is attached and their load on the unit?? What happens when there is no load attached and AC Mains is attached with the outputs turned on?

as it happens, removed the PCB so that I could remove & test the 2700uF cap = good, put it all back together, initially it was still faulting.

no load, only on battery, switch on UPS "output off" -> selected "on with no delay" and it would trip immediately.

now after a few failed attempts it is working without issue? has me stumped, left it overnight and UPS is relative cold say 16 deg C

What are the active faults / error codes displayed by the UPS - no error codes seen & nothing in the onboard logs

If you have APC PCBE software installed what does the logs indicate - not yet

Lastly, what is attached and their load on the unit - no load what so ever

What happens when there is no load attached and AC Mains is attached with the outputs turned on - worked without issue.

Guess what it is faulting again.

Ac mains works fine, turn ac off & ups immediately goes off completely.

could one of the changeover relays have stuck contacts?

Let’s keep this simple what is the history of this UPS? Bought new? How long has it been in your service? What is the serial number of your unit?

What kind of communication do you have connected to the system? USB / RJ50 Serial? Smart Slot (NMC)? Smart Connect Cloud Portal Service?

If you have any of these in place upload the event / data logs. If you have nothing at all what does the on board logs say??

If there was a relay weld issue it typically would be declared.

Perform this simple test twice after completing the following: Brain Dead

Brain Dead: Disconnect all connected loads. Remove AC Mains from the wall outlet. Disconnect the battery cartridge. Press and hold the power button until you hear a click / beep.

Apply AC Mains to the system. Power on the unit. Toggle the outputs from on-off-on. Do this three times and report back what you see and observe.

If everything is working properly you should hear the internal relays clicking open / closed.

If everything is fine after doing the above. Reconnect the battery cartridge via the Anderson connector.

While the output is (On) what happens once you connect the battery cartridge??

Keep in mind at no time should there be ANY connected loads attached on the back during this test.
