Hi everyone,
I just recently purchased the LCD version of the APC RS1500 UPS. I can tell you already, from reading the forums, I may not have followed proper procedure when first hooking the thing up and using it. I basically just plugged the thing in, turned it on, and started plugging things into it.
Now I notice a faint, yet high-pitched, ear-piercing sound coming from the machine about every 5 seconds. I have done some research and some info is leading to replacing the batteries, others are saying there could be transformers or coils etc. vibrating causing the sound. I just wanted to check with the experts to see what they have to say. I don't see any 'replace batteries' light flashing or anything, they read full charge. Not sure where to go from here, any help is always appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello.
Just wanted to be sure that you have connected the internal battery of the unit, to be sure let us re-seat the battery. Follow the steps outlined below:
1: Disconnect any attached load.
2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery.
4: Push and hold the ""On"" button on the UPS for 5 seconds
5: Reconnect internal battery.
6: Plug UPS in to known good power source.
7: Turn UPS on.
Let me know as well what is the model number of your UPS to assist you further.
