Problems with Back UPS 1500VA

Firstly, a few details:

Model: APC Back UPS RS 1500 (230V) / BR1500-IN
Purchased: on 5/5/10 in Bangalore, India
Serial #: JB********** (JB followed by 10 numbers)
QA Test:
-------Revision: 69.73.585.38.81
-------Date: 3/22/10
-------Every test says "PASSED" and at the bottom it says "Overall Passed!" and there's a stamp which reads "BATTERY OK". Has a signature too.
------

The problems:

*1. When the UPS is in battery mode, the PSU (not UPS) (Corsair TX650) makes a buzzing noise.*
------I have learnt that this is normal for a Back-UPS, but it is very annoying. Is there any way to get rid of the noise (like using a stabilizer)? If no, can I get a Smart-UPS of the same capacity in exchange for my Back-UPS (_the Smart-UPS should be expendable by adding a battery pack_)

*2. The speakers also make a similar noise when the UPS is in battery mode.*
------If I connect headphones to the speaker, the headphones start making noise and the speakers stop

*3. When there is no AC power, the UPS shuts down and flashes the overload indicator*
-----I tired everything I could think of, including removing every cable/cord connected to the UPS, but it still says overloaded when it performs a self test or does not receive AC power. This problem started just a few hours ago.

I would be very grateful if you can tell me how I can stop/prevent these problems.

I do have PowerChute installed (for now), and it says "your battery backup is currently supplying 112 watts of power". It sometimes increases to 150W, but I don't think it matters, as even if there are no equipments connected, it says overload.

And now I can see the "replace battery" indicator lit (it started 10 mins ago), and PowerChute also tells me I need to replace the battery. It's only been 10 days since I bought this UPS, is something wrong with the battery?

One last question: Is there a Smart UPS of 1500VA which can be extended by connecting an external battery pack? I couldn't find any in apc.com

Yes, I think something is wrong with the UPS and/or battery. I would suggest calling in to tech support since you said this was purchased recently. They should be able to help determine what's wrong with the UPS and issue a replacement part/unit if necessary.

Yes, the [SMX1500RM2U|http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SMX1500RM2U] has to option to connect external battery packs.
