Hi all,
I am very new to AVR and UPS. Recently I bought a LE1200 for my PC. It worked fine for 3 days then it just refuse to turn on. Initially I thought it was faulty but then I found out it only would not turn on when I have appliances plugged in, it will turn on if there is nothing plugged in. I tested it on 3 different pc and its the same. I got it changed under warranty from APC after they try to troubleshoot it but the new unit I got now is also displaying the same symptoms so I am beginning to think that its not the avr's problems.
I hope someone here can give me some advise. My country uses 240v and my pc uses a 800w psu. Under advise from support I have set the avr to 230v.
Thanks!

I am not exactly sure , its a three prong plug (Type G) similar as those used in UK. Yes I am from Malaysia. According to wikipedia Malaysia uses AC230v. During the last few days the symptoms seems to have eased a little. It happens again last Saturday. What I would do is to unplug my pc and monitor, turn it on and turn it off and then plug back my pc and monitor and turn it on again.

what happens if you turn on the LE1200 with nothing plugged in THEN plug in a PC? Does it turn immediately off? do you ever see any LEDs on or hear any strange noises?
is the exact model LE1200I? I looked in the user's guide and you said you use 240v and according to the user's guide, there is a 240v setting on the unit? why did they tell you to use 230v? (or was that a typo?)

yes, i am wondering why. if you are inputting 240v to the unit, the first thing i'd do is switch it to 240v unless they told you specifically why to do 230v. is your 240, hot, hot, ground, or hot, neutral ground? seems as though you are in Malaysia?

Hi
Sorry was away yesterday. Thanks for the reply.
Ok, if i were to turn it on with no appliance plugged at the sockets it will and the led lights will turn on as normal. But as long as i have anything plugged in (be it a pc, printer or monitor) then it won't.
My exact model is LE1200 without an "I". As for the 240v there is a switch on the unit that allows me to select between 220, 230 and 240v. I set it to 230v because one of the support from APC advise me to.
