I'm on a Win10 pro box and I'm trying to install the APC PowerChute Personal (v3.0.2) software... but it's going extremely slow: every new screen the installation process steps through takes approximately 15 minutes to complete... in the meantime, I'm sitting looking at the spinning circle (please wait) icon. I'm on the second or third screen and it's been ~30 minutes since I started the installation attempt. It appears to me that this program is broken.

Hi,
When you look at the device manager what battery device is showing as connected to the system? See Schneider Electric FAQ FA310907 for assistance with checking the connected UPS. If in device manager you see HID UPS Battery check the connected device using USBDeview.exe See Schneider Electric FAQ FA283181

Hi,
Sorry for the delayed reply. Have you been successful with the install? If not is it stalling at the select an installation folder window as shown in the screenshot?

Bill,
What is the model of the Back-UPS You will find the information on the bar code sticker on the back or bottom of the unit.
Also, what is the part number of the USB cable connected between the UPS and computer?

Hello:
Thanks for responding. The problem was outside of the APC software. A follow-on software package (not associated with APC) installation the following day resulted in the same "delayed" install effect, as did a third package install the following day. My system eventually went through a reboot, and this apparently resolved this issue. In any case, the fact that I reproduced this errant behavior on two other software install packages suggests the problem was in my desktop Win10 OS environment... not the individual (including APC) install packages.
Problem resolved.
Thanks for your attention & help.
Bill B.

"My system eventually went through a reboot, and this apparently resolved this issue."
What does this mean?
I have rebooted several times with no success.
