Model BE350U. Twice it has powered itself on in the middle of the night. Turned off and double checked when finished with computer - so I know it was off and all the equipment lights are off - which tells me the power is off.. Get up in the morning and the power light on UPS is on and everything connected to UPS is on (except computer). No one else has access to equipment so I know somebody is not leaving it on. Affraid to leave plugged in now - anybody got any ideas?

No real reason for turning it off - just always have. It has done it three times now - first time about 2 weeks ago - last thursday and today.

if the UPS is off via the on/off switch (versus being shutdown by a low battery), it should not come back on under any circumstance that i can think of. i believe the UPS has an on off switch that is depressed when its on though, am i right cal680?

Correct - seems impossible - but it is happening. When the UPS is off the button is up - down is on. When I found it on by itself the button was up (which means it should be off) To turn off I had to push down and then push again to make it come up and go off. Wierd

and i am just checking my bases here but, these are definitely devices in the outlets labeled "battery back up + surge" rather than just "surge only" outlets, right?

OK - problem found and fixed - **MY CAT** While I was using the computer the cat reached up and hit the power button on UPS! Guess she does not like the green light. UPS moved - hopefully she can't reach far enough this time. Thanks for your assist.

So my cat just did the same thing with me sitting here working... Is there a safety cover or something that can be put over the power button on a ES 750? I really don't have anywhere else to put the UPS except at my feet (where my cats like to be).

is there a reason you are specifically turning it off at the end of the night? the UPS is generally designed to be on all the time.
regardless, it shouldn't be doing this though. when is the last time it did it before this most recent time?
