There is a battery containing acid inside the Back Ups, is there any restriction on the positioning of the unit, e.g.when it is placed vertically, which side should be up, which side should be down.

The battery is a sealed lead acid type and so long as the case is not severely broken, it will not leak or spill regardless of orientation.
Sometimes a long neglected and worn out battery can bulge or split, but I've never seen more than very slight leakage in that case. Generally speaking the battery is useless long before reaching that point.

Hi Peter,
What's the model and serial number of the backups that you have? To clarify, the battery you have isn't damaged/leaking correct?
Thanks,
Tommy
