Personal SurgeArrest Chirping Sound

My father owns a Personal SurgeArrest (model PER8T) surge protector and it has started making chirping noises.  I usually associate that with a bad battery, but this is not a UPS, it is only a surge protector so I would not expect that it has a battery in it.  I cannot find any documentation on this product.  Does anyone know why it is chirping or if there is any replaceable part to fix it, or should it just be discarded?  Thank you.

I wasn’t able to locate the user guide for this specific SPD. So can’t comment on the *Chirping Noise* you speak of. But, normally that would indicate a over load on the SPD or a fault in the unit.

Regardless, this specific model has a lifetime warranty so take some photos of the unit with the serial number and submit the same for a RMS. Your father will receive the latest and greatest equivalent of the same from APC!
