When I connect my internet cable through my Back-UPS 1500 LCD I get limited or no connectivity.
My cable technician said it is not good to run the internet connection through the UPS, but I want the protection.

Yes, when I have internet connectivity straight from the wall jack, I lose it when going through the UPS.

Do you get connectivity if you bypass the UPS? Have you tried swapping out ethernet cables just to verify that the problem lies on the port of the UPS?

@Notorious,
Thank you for the prompt reply.
However, if I am not mistaken that particular piece of equipment is for Ethernet cable, and not for the Coaxial cable?
In other words, it will protect my router, but not my modem, whereas the BR1500LCD has F connectors for attaching the Coaxial cable and therefore provides protection for the modem as well?
If that portion of the UPS is defective, would not replacement of the UPS be in order rather than adding another piece of equipment that does not serve the same purpose?

Nick,
My apologies. I thought it was with the data line, not the coax.
We can still ship you the PV. The cost of shipping it and reduced downtime, along with the Protectnet having a higher surge protection, would be beneficial.

Thank you for the offer, but that does not solve the problem.

On many APC UPSs, the coax/phone/LAN protection is on a separate circuit board and more or less a separate unit that happens to share the chassis.
If you couldn't get the internet connectivity working, a compromise can be made. Connect the modem directly to the cable line, then feed the Ethernet connection to Cable modem through the UPS. If worst comes worst, your cable modem gets fried. If you're renting, Comcast or whoever will likely replace it no charge.

Nick,
Unfortunately not all of the APC Moderators on this board have the spare time to frequently check this board through the duration of the day. The typical response time is 1-day. It's the same pretty much as email support, except with Email support you don't get to see other's issues as well.
If you call into tech support, they should be able to RMA you a PNET1GB:

This should solve your problem.

Do you mean fail to solve as in is still persists when using the PV?
I've documented instances where either the Coaxial or the RJ-45 ports on them do not work, and the recommended solution for backdoor surge protection is a protectnet. If you want a replacement unit, that's fine, but if it happens again to the replacement, a protectnet is probably going to be what's offered.

No, as in should I not have Internet through the UPS on the coax?
And, why would a defective part not be covered under warranty?

That's part of what I've seen. The digital line won't have the feed pass through the coaxial surge protection, which is what the PV is offered. For some reason the signal strength gets distorted and you lose Internet connectivity before the feed enters the cable modem on the coaxial side.

Thanks to all who attempted to help, but apparently this issue was that my ISP (RoadRunner, Time-Warner) was not sending a high enough level of signal to my unit.
After several phone calls and two visits by service techs, I finally convinced them that the problem was on their end.
Still, I am concerned that I was only offered a LAN cable protector in lieu of the full internet connection protection (coaxial cable) that I purchased the UPS for.

Your explanation is perfect. I have come into contact with a website about connectors, and the electronic connectors in it are also very good. Is a professional manufacturer of electronic components, focusing on R&D and manufacturing of RF connectors, wires, adapters and other electronic products. If you need, you can visit the following website.
