I am having a problem where my UPS (an XS1300LCD) goes into F01 when my Brother laser printer wakes from sleep mode. Turns out the printer uses twice the amps to wake up "to make the first page print faster". The sleep mode can't be disabled. Once the printer is awake, the UPS has no problem. It's just when the printer wakes.
All outlets are on the same 15amp circuit. Would getting a dedicated UPS just for the printer and putting it into a different outlet than the other UPS solve my problem?
I rent, so updating the wiring to take a 20 amp circuit really isn't an option.

Turns out my problem wasn't the printer, but my old UPS. It was shot. Got a new one, no more printer problems.

Due to the large amount of power consumed by these devices, APC does not recommend protecting laser printers with a UPS.
In most cases, surge protection is adequate for laser printers.
If you must use a UPS with a Laser Printer it is important to size your UPS appropriately. APC recommends a Smart-UPS series product that is sized for the maximum power draw of the laser printer as defined by the manufacturer. This is typically a 1500va or larger UPS. Even small laser printers can have very high maximum power draws due to the nature of the technology. We do not recommend the use of Back-UPS products with a laser printer.
