Model SMC1000I-2UC - is the battery hot swappable?

Hi,
So I have an UPS model SMC1000I-2UC and I need to change the battery soon. I have been reviewing the documentation but I am not able to find any information regarding on how to change the battery on this model.

can I hot swap the battery? or should I power off everything before changing the battery?

I have attached the full user manual which outlines the RBC insertion / replacement process on page 5:

Insure you follow the steps outlined on page 11 & 13 to update the system the RBC has been replaced. 

NOTE: The vast majority of current generation of Smart-UPS support hot swapping the RBC.

Generally speaking hot swap capability depends upon firmware in place.
