LED turns off occasionally for a second or two

h3. I have a Back-UPS EX , BE500U. I just replaced the battery with a new gell cell of the proper size, 7.2 amps. I have it plugged in and turned on but no device for a load is plugged into it. About every minute or two, the LED will turn off a second or two then come back on. I will hear an occasional click; but, I don't know if this click coincides with the LED going off and back on.

does it still do that with the original battery? do you have software (APC Powerchute Personal Edition) attached to this UPS? it may be switching to battery briefly because of electrical noise or something so you could try lowering the sensitivity just to see if it stops. then we can look into seeing if indeed it is electrical noise and tracking down the cause of that. also, the software may help tell us the reason its transferring to battery, if not electrical noise, and may be able to tell us some other helpful information.
