Is my UPS Socket Defective?

Hello, I have 2 (two) units of the same model of APC BACK-UPS 1400 UPS. What is strange is that one of them will not fit a standard Type B US plug on ALL of its sockets, I am wondering if the socket is defective unit or what I got is a fake.

For reference this is what a standard Type B US Plug looks like above

NFLQbatQsrxCE4lGA1g2xQ%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.jpegNFLQbatQsrxCE4lGA1g2xQ%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.jpegbegxsMHAMCqL8nDjn%2Fa6lg%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.jpegbegxsMHAMCqL8nDjn%2Fa6lg%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.jpeg

The one on the left is the UPS that has its "hole" on the middle. This UPS fits the Type B US Plug.

The one on the right has its "hole" on the outer hole of the socket. This UPS DOES NOT fit the Type B US Plug.

I pictured the back of each UPS' serial

GWQFjrGyUdS981iJFA2Cnw%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.jpegGWQFjrGyUdS981iJFA2Cnw%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.jpegJKub2ugbaTyyqaoc%2FUNNhw%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.jpegJKub2ugbaTyyqaoc%2FUNNhw%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.jpeg

The one on the left is the UPS' serial that fits the Type B US Plug.

The one on the right is the UPS' serial that DOES NOT fit the Type B US Plug.

Is this a manufacturing defect or did I get a fake? Am i covered by APC's warranty? (I purchased both from the same computer shop, and I purchased the UPS that does not fit the US Plug in just a few months ago, its not even a year old).

Another thought here: I don't see the PC's power supply listed as something that failed.

It would be hard to fry the components in the PC without first frying the power supply. Thus perhaps the real problem is the PC's power supply--it's sometimes throwing spikes. It's throwing them in both directions mylonestar, though--some of the high voltage from the conversion stage is going back up the supply line.

Hi Roldan,

I'd advise you to open a case with your local APC by SE support team, judging by the serial number the unit should still be in warranty.
