Hello Friends.
I'm in need of a UPS power backup that will work in the USA and overseas. I am a professional pianist and composer. I also record and produce my music and I work with a variety of musicians from other parts of the world. My computer will work with a wide range of voltage inputs, but other items like my headphone amp or multitrack recorder only accepts 120v input. I would like to be able to plug everything into one UPS backup and have them all work.
I have searched the web trying to find something that will accept an input of 100-240v and output 120v, but so far I have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions that may work? Also, can I buy an APC UPS that is rated with an input of 240v with an output of 240v and bring it to the USA and plug it into a 120v source with successful results? I have tried this with other devices and in some cases they still functioned.
Steve

Hi,
APC has an X167 selection of units (rather limited) such as SU2200R3X167 (2200VA) and SU700X167 (750VA). These units take 120v or 230v input, and output 120v only. Their input ranges are: 187 - 242 (220V), and 92 - 147V. They can also accept input cords such as:
British BS1363A
Italian CEI 23-16
NEMA 5-15P
Schuko CEE 7/7P
These units are Smart-UPS, so they have the same benefits in terms of accessory cards and superior performance that our other Smart-UPS offer.

In Brazil we have a company called TS SHARA, that makes a full range UPS model. It works from 84-250V and puts out 115V +/- 6%.
