I have a voltmeter that says the line is 121v yet the software says it is 150v. because of this, it does not take a charge from the wall. Brand new. Has anyone seen this?

I just took it back to the store a minute ago. They are going to have a look at it. I will forward this to them.
Thanx for your help. I will post back with the resolution.

So you said that the software sees 150v? The software is reporting an overvoltage?
What I would recommend is brain deading the unit AKA resetting the circuitry in the UPS.
To do it, follow these steps:
You need to power down all attached equipment and unplug it from the UPS (if there is any which I suspect not). You then need to power down the UPS and unplug it from the utility power. Also, make sure that all communication cables are removed (if any). Now, you want to hold down on the "off (o)" button until you hear an audible click (if not, proceed after 10 seconds anyway). Now, the internal circuitry of the UPS is reset, and you should be able to plug the UPS in, turn it on and see if theres any change.
If not, I suppose there could be an issue with the UPS and it may need to be replaced if its falsely reporting 150v and there is absolutely no question that it is actually 150v.
