Hello.
I have bought the APC Back UPS ES 700VA 230V. (German Model)
Ich habe mir eine USV von APC gekauft. Genauer das Modell APC Back UPS ES 700VA 230V.
In the manual it is written that one should plug the USP only into a wall's outlet and not via a multiple socket. Why is that?
Also, I would like to connect a Desktop PC and a NAS (QNAP TS-412) to the USP. The USP came with this USB-RJ45 Adapter, so that the PC or NAS can shut down if there is a blackout.
But since there is just one Dataport to connect the cable, how can I tell both devices (PC and NAS) to shut down then?

most if not all of the Back UPS product line only has support to shutdown one attached device via data cable. what you'd have to see if you can do is run a script or similar from your PC to shut down your NAS prior to the PC turning off. beyond that, you'd have to look at a larger UPS that supports multiple client shutdown - something in the Smart UPS product line since I am unaware of any other Back UPS product that will do this without trying what i mentioned with the script.
