I have a BE550G attached to my Synology NAS. The other night during a storm we lost power and the alarm was going and I had to turn the UPS off to keep it quiet. Is there a way I can directly set the device to disable the audible alarm when going to battery backup? I find that if I am home and the power goes out, I can't miss that fact. Since this is not connected to a PC, I don't have it talking with PCPE.
I also have a BE750G connected to the PC with PCPE. So if I can't disable the alarm from the device itself, can I do it through PCPE and have it effective when I an no longer running through PCPE? What would happen if I unplug the data line from the BE750G to the PC and plug in the line from the BE550G? Will PCPE be OK with that? Will it mess up anything in its data or will all be as before when connecting back with the BE750G?
Thanks!
-Bruno

Thanks, Bill. Only took a minute. Energy usage is not a problem as I disabled the service for that.

Hi,
You can disconnect the PC from the 750 and connect to the 550 to change the settings. Once you change the audible alarm / notification setting on the 550 the configuration will be saved on the 550 until such time as the UPS is reset to defaults. You can then reconnect to the 750. The only thing that will be affected is the energy usage info that is stored on the PC since you will be connecting to 2 different UPS.
