I have a 4-year old APC Back-Ups RS-1500. The battery wore out about a week ago. I purchased a replacement battery from a third party vendor. After reassembling the unit, I let it recharge overnight. In the morning, I powered it on without any devices plugged into it. The green (On Line) light flashed for a short while, then turned off and the yellow Battery light turned on. Afterwards I let it run for about 30 minutes. The whole time, every few seconds, the unit switched (click) between On Line and Battery and then beeped four times. Sometimes the switch happened before all four beeps, but I think that's what it was trying to do.
I unplugged the UPS. That stopped it from switching to On Line every few seconds, but then I got the four beeps every 30 seconds.
Please tell me what this means and how to fix it!

Hi Patricia,
If the UPS is constantly switching from OnLine to OnBattery that means that the UPS is detecting there is some electrical distortion from the power source, you would need to lower down the sensitivity setting of your unit, here is a link for you to follow to do so.
