I know that the BX is for retail sales, but are there any other significant differences between the BR1500LCD and BX1500LCD models? I have read that the BX1500LCD only offer a boost for low voltages and no trimming of high voltages. Is this the same with the BR series too? There must be other reasons for the price difference.

Both the BX and BR use the same user manual and the manual makes no mention of any differences between them. Very confusing. I am looking for a model that offers both boost and trim AVR, and I really like the LCD screen. More research is needed I guess. Oh, I just noticed you edited your original response. Thanks for your input.

At this point for the LCD models neither have both boost and trim, if you want both of those you would need to go with a non LCD BR(RS) series model.

Ack! Sorry about that, the KBase I was linking was the non LCD models.
The only difference is that the XS lists no ethernet protection, whereas the RS does. Otherwise both are Boost only.
XS: RJ-45 Modem/Fax protection (two wire single line),Co-axial Video / Cable protection
RS: RJ-45 Modem/Fax/DSL/10-100 Base-T protection,Co-axial Video / Cable protection
