Dell PowerEdge 2900 does not recognize Smart UPS 3000

Hi,
I have a Server Dell Power Edge 2900 and Smart UPS 3000 both connected via serial.
With Hyperterminal of Windows I connect without ploblems, but with the management program Powerchute, I can´t. The program does not recognize the UPS.
Can you help me?

Which smart ups 3000 do you have? There should be a white sticker with a model # and serial # on the back

Which powerchute program did you install? And are you using usb or serial?

Smart UPS Model: 3000RMIZU S/N: JS0713020357

I installed the programs on the CD, starting with the Powerchute Business edition Agent, but the program seeks UPS on COM1 and COM2 and not found.

I am using only serial connection.

Sorry about the delay. We normally only respond during the week. If you installed the agent, and it didn't detect the UPS, it will not work properly. I would suggest disconnecting and reconnecting the serial cable. Then you will need to uninstall any software you installed and reinstall the agent. If it doesn't detect the UPS this time, it may be a cable or computer issue(not very common). The part # of the cable should be 940-0024c or 940-1524. The letter at the end is the revision so its not important in this case.

Hi Chrisri, the P/N of the cable serial is 940-0024 and as I said above, with Hyperterminal of Windows I connect without ploblems via COM1 in UPS with usename: apc and password: apc, and I can see all the setting of the UPS, so that the problem is not the cable or computer.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled the Agent several times, but the program no detect the UPS.
I want to tell that I have no connect any cable USB (RJ45 - USB) between UPS and Server. I have it connected only via serial. The system need this cable (USB) to recognize it?.
Sorry for my language, I speak English little.
