Instructions for this unit are unclear. In one place (In and To Equipment) it states protection is provided for a DSS receiver. However just below in bold type it says not to connect the cable from a DSS dish to the In connector as it may damage satelite dish or surge protector.
My question: Does this unit protect my satelite receiver or not? Can I connect the dish input to the coaxial input?

i think that what you are supposed to do is from the satellite connection into your home then out to the DSS receiver. so go from your wall, to In then connect the cable from To equipment to the receiver. thus, the surge protection is in front of your DSS receiver and not after.
i think that makes sense? ha, i agree, yes confusing.
