Compatible network management for smx2200hv

Look at the compatability chart and says AP9630 and AP9631 are compatible with smx2200hv.

However it says

SMX/SMT require sumx APP v5.0.3 or higher.

What does that mean in practice?

Can I only connect via the app?

Many thanks D

It means your UPS must be running at least this firmware to operate correctly with the NMC AP9631 / AP9630.

You can go to the LCD -> About to find out what firmware is in place now.

NOTE: There is no smart application for the UPS. The NMC has an internal web client that allows you to access, setup, and manage the system.

Let me know if you have more questions. If the information proves helpful mark this as solved. So the information helps the next person asking the same. 👍

Thanks for the advice, will I be able to tun the ups on and off remotely.

Was hoping I might also be able to use ups to issue command to shut computers down over the network automatically.

Thanks D

I have appended a few reference documents for your review:

https://iportal2.schneider-electric.com/Contents/docs/UPS-SMAN-7PESSG_R5_EN.PDF

Full user manual is provided in this link:

https://www.apc.com/us/en/product/AP9631/ups-network-management-card-2-with-environmental-monitoring...

NOTE: You can use the NMC to issue commands for computer systems that have Power Chute Network Shutdown software installed to power down.

The UPS will also issue the same commands automatically when there is a power outage and the system is nearing the shut down limit defined by you.

You can manage the on / off state of the UPS grouped outlets. You can issue commands to reboot the UPS outlets etc.

NOTE: There is no method to shut down the UPS itself only the grouped outlets can be managed to turn power on / off.

When the actual UPS hardware needs to be turned off completely. The EPO (Emergency Power Off) circuit is used to terminate system operations and power draw from the AC Mains.

In the vast majority of installations the EPO is connected to a physical momentary N.O / N.C button located at the entrance of the server room.

If remote control needs to be available the EPO is connected to a (Remote) controllable relay system.
