What are the differences between a SUA1500 and BR1500LCD other than price?

BR1500LCDI warranty should be 2 years according to Singapore APC website.

The primary difference between the BR1500LCD and the SUA1500 is their output while on battery. The BR1500LCD is from the BackUPS product line and outputs a step-approximated sine wave when it transfers to battery. The SUA1500 is from the SmartUPS product line which is manufactured as more of a business grade UPS. The SmartUPS outputs a pure sine wave while on battery making it better for higher end electronics, servers, etc...

The SmartUPS also has a larger battery, allowing for nearly twice the runtime that the BR1500LCD.

One advantage of the BR1500LCD is that it provides data line surge protection, for protecting your broadband internet connection from surges as well as your electrical lines. This feature is not integrated into the SmartUPS products but can be added to a SmartUPS solution by using other APC surge accessories.

Another significant feature not mentioned in earlier posts is the availability of a SmartSlot. This slot can be populated with a variety of accessories, usually a Network Management Card.

Using a NMC, you can use the PowerChute Network Shutdown software to gracefully shut-down any computers that are powered by the UPS.

The SUA Smart-UPS also reports much more detailed data about itself and your power environment compared to the Back-UPS. This data is very useful for management via a network card, or just by the free PowerChute Business Edition software.

Quick answer is if its for a server use the SUA, if its for a desktop the SUA is better but the BR will work fine.
