well lowering the sensitivity would eliminate clicking but it would be a good idea, if the LEDs arent telling us anything, to install software and see if there is anymore information πŸ™‚ keep us updated if you need anymore help.

hi,

can you tell us the particular model off the little white sticker on the back or bottom of the UPS?

are there any LEDs lit up?

generally a chirping has to do with the battery. if the replace battery LED is solid, the unit may chirp to tell you to replace it. if the replace battery LED is flashing and chirping, it thinks the battery is disconnected. this can mean that, yes indeed its disconnected so you may want to check the battery connections. if they are fine, the battery voltage may be low and even undetectable to the UPS. so with that, is this a new UPS/new battery? when was the last time the battery was replaced if its used?

if none of this matches up, make sure to tell us what LEDs are lit up on the UPS while this noise is happening. that should help us diagnose what the issue is.

Yes my Smart Up is brand new and the regular lights that should be on are on. I called APC and they told me to install the software and set the sensitivity to Med and I made sure that the battery connection is tight. I shall wait and see if she chirps Thanks Michael
