I have a brand new Back-UPS 600, I just plugged it in and it makes a constant clicking sound. One click every 2 sec. Very irritating and I can't work listening to it. The only thing plugged into it is my desktop computer. Please help!

Based on the information provided and the video it sounds like the UPS is overloaded.
If the system is connected to a computer running APC Power Chute software. What active faults / error codes are declared?!?
Please also show the tabs that indicate the input / output line voltage, frequency, current, battery voltage / capacity. Please show the power drawn by your computer as this UPS only supports 330 watts.
My expectation is you’ll see either a over load fault, on battery fault, etc.

I unplugged everything from the battery, and it is still making the clicking noise. I even pulled out the inner battery, disconnected the red lead, reconnected it, plugged the battery back in, and it is still making the noise. Nothing is plugged into it. Any ideas?

Connect the system to a computer running APC Power Chute Software and report back what the active fault / error codes are. In the interim you should begin an RMA with APC Technical Support. You'll need to have the purchase receipt, serial number, and brief description of the problem.
All the steps I called out will be asked of you to do anyways. So might as well do it now to save time and frustration while on the phone / chat with APC technical support.
Let me know the results of the active faults / error codes.

Looks like I solved the problem. I switched the plug from one outlet to the other outlet, on the same receptacle. Now the clicking stopped. Strange. The offending outlet now powers a lamp, no problem. Seems the battery simply doesn't like that one particular outlet. Perhaps there is some power fluctuation in that one outlet. All good now. The battery is quiet and is doing the right thing.
