Brand new BR1000G-IN charges very slowly and discharging very fast (< 5mins) under nominal load

Hi,

I recently (2 weeks) bought BR-1000G-IN the legendary BACK-UPS. Its working fine, however the battery backup is even less than five minutes under nominal load (it shows 80w). In the display it shows the backup time is ~65 minutes, and it dies in 5 minutes! Again the charging time is pretty high (~10 hours). While charging and discharging it runs its own fan that creates monstrous noise overpowering my pc fan noise, which is a big problem.

My question is why the battery performance is so poor for a new product. Should I go for RMA?

Just a note on my usage- After I am done with my work on PC I shut down the PC, and also turn off the power switch from the wall socket. I remember the manual saying to leave the wall socket power switch to be turned on all the time. So while the wall switch is turned off, is it discharging internally even if turn off mode?
