Hi!
I have a problem with my Back-up UPS ES 550 (BE550-GR / 5B0649U02546). Firmware 828.D2.I
According to PowerChute the remaining battery charge is 100% and estimated performance is 11minutes.
While power outage the NAS or lamp lasts for 0-2seconds and then quits and a constant tone starts. PowerChute still shows 100% or 99% and also notices that it is on battery power. Although my NAS (or whatever equipment) do not receive the battery power.
The problem started about a month or two ago. Last week I replaced the battery, no change.
What should I do?

Hi,
and thanks for the reply. Unfortunately none of the problems ably so the only reason left is "Problem #8: The UPS may be faulty". Anything else I could try?
Has anyone got their UPS repaired, is it worth it? Or should I just go the to shop and buy a new one.
What bothers me is that I just bought a new battery because I thought that would be the reason to the problem.

Hi Janne,
If this is an out of warranty unit, I would suggest you to do trade ups so you can take advantage of discount that our company offers. You may go for Smart UPS which is more compatible with almost all loads, such as servers.
Where did you purchase the battery?
I hope you can call our technical support hotline at 800-800-4272 so our rep can better assist you about this issue.

Hi,
Yes, it is out of warranty and was purchased in Finland (www.verkkokauppa.com) and the battery was purchased from the same place. Do you have support in Finland? And I wonder if the battery can be returned?
Is any of the "current" ups compatible with the battery I just bought (eg. APC Back-UPS ES 550VA)?
A great deal of your ups seem to work with ReadyNAS NV+ but I do not know which would be the best one (http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=88&sid=a54a6d48bb42787cb48032ede3301b70)? What I need is to avoid power failures and have a shutdown process.

Hi Janne,
Yes, we do have a support in Finland. Their sales contact number is +358 10 8374 600. You may always ask them if you can return the battery and you will just do tradeups instead although i'm not certain if they have such deal as that. We have available BackUPS Pro G 550, the part number is BE550G but if you plan to use the NAS on it, im not sure if that is compatible so I would suggest you to tradeup your old unit to a Smart UPS - which is compatible with almost all loads, especially to servers.

Thank you for your help. I returned the battery to verkkokauppa.com today and got refunded. I also ordered a new ES 550VA for my NAS as it was listed as compatible on the ReadyNAS forums. I should get it in a couple of days.
Thanks and have a great summer.
