Battery Melted... Suggestions?

Hello,

I had a backup's Pro that had a serious meltdown. I wasn't thinking and threw away everything but the battery. Should I try to get a warranty claim on it or am I SOL because I threw everything away? I'm including a picture. I had to break a large portion of the unit to get the battery out. It melted it pretty good.

How old Is this battery? Unfortunately, if the replace battery LED has been lit for sometime, the UPS will continue to try to charge the battery which may eventually cause this issue. I do not think that APC tech support can accept your warranty claim as the UPS is no longer available with you.
