I have a BackUPS 700 that has worked fine until recently. No matter what's plugged into it (even nothing), it will run fine for about 10 minutes (with the green On Line light NOT illuminated) and then suddenly die with a constant, loud, high-pitched tone and the red "Overload" light blinking. I even replaced the battery with a new one and it still happens. What's going on here?

From the serial number that you have given me, it shows that the unit was manufactured on the 34th week of 2006. The UPS is roughly 5 years old already, with regards to the problem being fixed by the enduser unfortunately it is not.
Should you want to have it fixed, you can contact our authorize repair center [Coastal Business Machines|http://www.cbmi.com].

Good day CarbonBased,
Unfortunately, from the symptoms that your UPS has presented it tells us that it has encountered an unrecoverable fault. Can you provide the serial number of the unit? I'll see if it still has warranty on it. The typical warranty on our BackUPS products is three years.

I'm pretty sure that's the serial.
If it's out of warranty, is this fault fixable by the end user?
