Hi Bill,
I bought a new BX950U-GR today to smooth power supply when my system switches from 220V house power to solar power (battery with 220V power converter) or back. The switch-over works very smoothly as the load system does not flinker what is good. But when the BX950 is running on the battery source,
a) the BX950 internal relay klacks every second
b) PowerChute app signals it is running on battery
c) after 2 mins. the BX950 shuts off.
while the solar battery system supplies 220V and (only) 5 Watts according to my tester. Any idea? Thanks!
Stefan
Addition 20 Jan: my power converter (12V battery to 220V) does *not* produce a pure sinus - is this the issue?

Hi William,
thanks a lot for your reply! I'll change to a power converter with a pure sinus.
Best regards
Stefan

Yes. You need an inverter having a true sine wave output. Otherwise the UPS will see a distorted input waveform and switch to its own battery. It has no way to know the difference.
