We recently had remodeling done to our home office. We had to take our PCs and the UPSes they were connected to off-line for a couple weeks. One of the UPSes - APC BX900R was powered off with the button on front and was left plugged in to the live wall outlet in a different room. When our remodel was done I tried to power this unit on and it doesn't come on-line and none of the lights come on. I have tried to bring it on-line disconnected from the wall outlet - doesn't work. I have tried to bring it on-line with no battery installed to see if it will error on the battery and nothing happens. Is this UPS dead do you think? The unit has batteries in it that are only 3 months old. The unit itself is only about 20 months old.

Hello Tom,
By any chance do you have a UPS that uses the same battery as a BX900R? If you do we can swap them to see if it would kick-in. Below is an APC Knowledge Base that would give you an idea on why a BackUPS would not turn on.
Article Name: A Back-UPS product will not turn on.
Article Link: http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/70/kw/70
Also, see if the unit would turn on by following the steps below:
# Unplug the load attached to the unit and unplug the unit from the power source.
# Press and hold the On/Power button, you would normally hear a short and a long beep.
# Release the On/Power button as soon as you hear the long beep.
# The UPS should kick-in to On Battery.
# Whatever the outcome maybe, let us know.
