Back-UPS ES700 unknown Status Indicator?

Hi,

My Back-UPS ES700 power on indicator is flashing red and there's a fast double beep every second. This isn't listed on the status indicators in the user guide, can somebody let me know what it signifies?

I bought a new battery, it worked ok for a day then the same flashing red light and fast double beep returned. As it's happening with two different batteries I assume the ES700 isn't charging the battery 😞
